Our Story
The Kitchen Studio was established in Springfield Park, KwaZulu-Natal, in 1994.
What began as a South African kitchen business has developed into a group with its own manufacturing capabilities, specialist teams and showrooms across the country.
For more than three decades, we have designed, manufactured and installed kitchens and fitted furniture for South African homes.
TKS remains a family-run and owner-run South African business.
Our branches are owned and operated within the group. TKS is not a franchise network.
This structure allows us to maintain a closer relationship between our showrooms, designers, factories, project teams and clients. The people responsible for selling a project remain connected to the people responsible for manufacturing and installing it.
Family-Run Since 1994
Good kitchen design cannot be judged only by how it looks in a render.
It needs to work around the architecture, appliances, storage requirements and daily routines of the people who will use it. It also needs to be manufactured accurately and installed properly.
Since 1994, we have learned what works, what does not, and what may look good on a screen but fails in a real home.
When clients work with TKS, they are not only paying for the quality of the finished product. They are getting more than three decades of practical design and manufacturing experience behind every decision.
Designed and Manufactured by Us
TKS manufactures cabinetry and fitted furniture through its own specialist facilities in KwaZulu-Natal, supported by regional showrooms, warehouses and installation teams.
Our group capabilities include cabinetry, veneers, painted finishes, solid wood, glass, metalwork and worktop fabrication through The Granite Studio.
Keeping these capabilities within the group gives us greater control over the details that determine how the finished project looks, works and lasts.
